Public Lecture Series 4

On Friday, 15 December 2017, Dr. Merle Ojasoo provided the Public Lecture Series 4 on “The Social Responsibilities and Roles of Universities”. The lecture aims to find out how to integrate this knowledge into everyday´ duties in the university.

Merle Ojasoo, PhD, is Associate Professor at Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia) in the School of Business and Governance, teaching business ethics, corporate social responsibility and change management. Her main research interests are ethics of organizations and management. She has published several scientific articles and she has participated in different scientific conferences. She serves as a member of the editorial board and referee for the many scientific journals and conferences.

She has been involved in many international teaching projects. Universities, as the centers of knowledge generation and sharing, play a very important role in solving world’s problems by ensuring a sustainable tomorrow. They create, safeguard and transmit knowledge vital for social and economic welfare, locally, regionally and globally. They cultivate values of society and create new initiatives. A university is like a lighthouse in the dark night.
